The Emerging Content Creators Workshop will bring up and coming creators together with entertainment industry professionals to discuss what emerging Latino visionaries need in order to succeed in the industry.

12:30 pm Registration for Master Class Program

1:15 pm - 2:15 pm  Showrunners Master Class

Showrunner Danielle Sanchez-Witzel (‘The Carmichael Show,’ NBC) and veteran writer and story editor Benjamin Lobato (‘Queen of the South,’ USA Network) will detail what it takes to become a successful show runner and show writer and the responsibilities attached to the title. They will discuss how to run a successful writer's room and how to influence a team. Other topics of discussion will include: developing the creative vision of a show, securing a show's ratings and seasonal progression and the increasing impact of diverse voices in television.

1:30 p.m - 2:45 p.m    Virtual Reality Workshop 

The Virtual Reality Demo Workshop will provide you with the necessary tools to start integrating this technology into your workflow. From production to stitching, to potentially improving your production costs, this futuristic platform is rapidly changing the future of storytelling.

2:30 pm - 4:00 pm    Producers Master Class

NALIP and The Producers Guild of America are proud to present this year's Producers' Master Class, a continuation of our master class series, led by powerhouse industry experts, Mike Medavoy (producer, Phoenix Pictures), Sergio Aguero (producer, Campanario) and Vice President of Theatrical Motion Pictures, David Friendly.

BLAST BEAT takes us back to the year 2000, where two Colombian immigrant brothers, Carly and Mateo, try to tackle the culture shock of the United States.

7:05 pm - 7:30 pm    NALIP Latino Lens Awards to LatinX and Latin American films and filmmakers of the year

The 2016 Latino Lens Festival and Showcase will present awards to best Latin American work by Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín for his film NERUDA, starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Luis Gnecco, and Chile’s official Academy Award® selection for Best Foreign Language film, as well as best LatinX work by filmmaker Fede Alvarez for Don’t Breathe. 

LatinX Film/Filmmaker of the year Award presented to Don't Breathe co-producer and co-writer Rodo Sayagues and in recognition of director Fede Alvarez.

Hosts

Liz Hernandez is a Mexican-American Emmy-nominated television personality. She joined NBC's Access Hollywood as a co-host and is proud to be one of the entertainment news program's first Latina correspondents and the only Latina currently on the air for the show.

Born and raised in Southern California, Hernandez served as the long-time co-host of the #1 rated and nationally syndicated morning show, Big Boy's Neighborhood, on Los Angeles' influential Power 106 FM. It was there that she was called "The Queen of Entertainment News." She has been recognized by the National Hispanic Media Coalition for excellence in radio broadcasting.

Carlos Yorvick is a Mexican actor best known for his recent work on the bio-series Hasta que te conoci, in which he portrays a young Juan Gabriel, "El Divo de Juarez." Yorvick has also worked on commercials, music videos, theater productions as well as films such as 21 Outs, Black Water and Angela's Mask. He is currently working on his first album under the direction of music producer Toby Sandoval who's worked with other talented artists like The Black Eyed Peas, Paulina Rubio and Pedro Fernandez.

At age 17, Sandra Vergara moved from Colombia to Los Angeles with her cousin, Modern Family star Sofia Vergara. She studied FX make-up design and theatre, though it was the latter that captured her heart. In addition to numerous hosting appearances, she has appeared on shows like CSI: Las Vegas, Nip/Tuck and The Bold and the Beautiful. Most recently, Sandra co-hosted Good Work, a show on E! with RuPaul. She has also done several films including Fright Night starring opposite Colin Farrell.

Augusto Valverde is an ongoing TV host working on NBCUniversal's bilingual network, Mun2. He has also hosted a national primetime debate show for Univision's Telefutura network. Experienced in red carpet, entertainment and sporting coverage, Augusto is also well versed in comdey improv, having received training through the Groundlings Theater.

He also has a strong pro-social calling off camera and serves as a Chaplain at the Men's Central Jail in Downtown Los Angeles where he visits inmates twice a week. He created a show called Global Child, and has spent the last year and half traveling around the world documenting his experiences while proving that social media can help enrich a person's travel experience.

8:00 pm - 9:30 pm    Industry Networking Mixer 

The Latino Lens Festival and Showcase will close with an industry mixer where participants and attendees will get a chance to mingle and exchange ideas with colleagues and professionals.
